Walking with the God who knows us

Journey to honour

What preparation for the path to the Father’s side?

.. let us strip off every weight that slows us down … And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Hebrews 12v1

First, travel light. All distractions released. This is after all the race of life, the prize is the presence of God.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

Hebrews 12v2

I have been stripped of good things that were taking my emotional and mental capacity. There must be a challenging track ahead.

Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame.

This race took Jesus through the cross. I have not died but at times it felt like it.

Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

The reward of the Lord is to be close to him. He is worth it.

Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.

Hebrews 12v3

Though my world is turned upside down I am encouraged by Jesus’ example to endure.

So take a new grip … Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.

Hebrews 12v12-13

Jesus knows the paths challenge. He knows the preparation needed both for my own sake and for others. Are you being challenged to prepare for a race?
