God desires us to have a Jesus life of completeness.
You … are complete through your union with Christ.
Colossians 2v10
That life is not gained through learning techniques and belief systems, but union with Jesus. How is that union developed?
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth
Colossians 2v7
As we root into him through word and prayer, he feeds us. We discover his love and strength and are encouraged in faith to live the complete life, growing tall and strong.
Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.
Colossians 2v8
There is always a choice! People trying to grapple with the way the world works, and seeking to recreate it in their image show us other convincing paths. Our following gives them power. So, who are we following?
… as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.
Colossians 2v6
To be united there can only be one boss. Our culture wants choice, and of course the Lord gives us choice, but when that choice is the wisdom of clever people it will not bring completeness.
