Walking with the God who knows us
Waiting at a window

Silence!

God can develop us with silence!

I searched for the Lord. All night long I prayed, with hands lifted toward heaven, but my soul was not comforted.

Psalm77v2-3

The writer longs for help. Faith is stretched. When something urgent is approaching, … We can think God does not care, or is not able, or …

I think of the good old days … when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.

Psalm 77v5-6

Remembering what God has done in the past strengthens us to ponder what has changed?

Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he slammed the door on his compassion?

Psalm 77v9

We know God has power, but anxiety tempts us to doubt.

But then I recall all you have done,  …. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.

Psalm 77v11-12

Meditating on what God has done reassures. He has not changed. Maybe we need to be stretched for a future challenge yet unseen!

Your road led through … the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there! … with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds.

Psalm 77v19-20

When God does intervene, it is unexpected. Will we have become the people who can go with him?
