The Spirit rested on Jesus, Can He rest on me?
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him
Isaiah 11v2
For the Spirit to rest on a person He must feel safe. If I am pressing what I want, I am unlikely to be safe. My attitude can be demanding, the focus more on me than the Lord.
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
Isaiah 11v2
The Spirit brought much to Jesus who knew his limits as a human. I however, presume and don’t even think to ask.
The attribute list ends with ‘the fear of the Lord’, that attitude of taking God more seriously than the threats I see.
and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
Isaiah 11v3
Jesus took risks with joy. This is the fruit of living in the fear of the Lord or trusting God – doing what he leads into, confident he will carry the consequences.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;

As the Lord takes me like a blind man I have to ignore the fearsome distractions of what I see or hear in order to be at peace and safe for the Spirit to lead.
