Christendom laid a foundation.
The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?” Psalm 11v3
Now post Christendom we see that foundation being dismantled. We have no right to maintain it. We have to relinquish our entitlement to an order that served us, while upholding integrity.
I trust in the Lord for protection. Psalm 11v1 NLT
As marginalised people our only recourse is God. Do I trust him more than government and law?
The wicked are stringing their bows … They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right. Psalm 11v2
It is easy to say I trust until the wicked words of accusers land close to our hearts. How will I respond? With wicked scheming and violence or trust in the invisible God?
But the Lord is in his holy Temple; the Lord still rules from heaven. Psalm 11v4
Do I believe the Lord rules when on paper it seems otherwise?
The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence. Psalm 11v5
It is easy to be so focused on what is wrong that I miss that he is looking at me! Will I trust him when all my old means of arguing my case are gone?
The virtuous will see his face. Psalm 11v7
Jesus said blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God.
