There are times I have felt hemmed in and resentful towards those responsible.
So why should I fear in bad times, hemmed in by enemy malice, Shoved around by bullies, demeaned by the arrogant rich?
Psalm 49v5-6
I feel I cannot express myself and, if I believe that is life’s goal then, why has God failed?
If I try to rescue myself,
There’s no such thing as self-rescue, pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.
Psalm 49v7
When I have tried to rescue myself, I missed the opportunity of God’s grace. When Jesus was threatened, he went to the Galilee backwater – and fruitful ministry.
Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.
Matthew 5v5
Meekness can take me to a place the Father had intended but I could not see.
The cost of rescue is beyond our means, and even then it doesn’t guarantee Life forever, or insurance against the Black Hole.
Psalm 49v8-9
True rescue comes from the Lord. I might achieve something through drivenness, but there is always a cost.
Anyone can see that the brightest and best die … They leave all … behind, move into their new home, The Coffin.
Psalm 49v10-11
Whatever I am being denied will come to an end, as will those who oppress. Paul wrote,
And now these three remain, faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13v13
What am I living for? For the achievements of this fickle world? OR,
The only thing that counts … faith expressing itself through love?
Galatians 5v6
