The Salvation Word

Salvation is a big word. Why is it limited to escaping hell?

Keep me safe, O God, I’ve run for dear life to you.

Psalm 16v1

I run to the Lord. He is ready to save in anything physically, emotionally or spiritually, from major threats to minor irritations. Maybe a job offer, maybe a parking spot, maybe that aching hunger of the heart, …

I say to God, “Be my Lord!” Without you, nothing makes sense.

Psalm 16v2

There are questions I ponder. He saves out of issues I feel stuck with. He may want to journey with me through the process. When I pray, salvation can be seeing the next step.

Don’t just go shopping for a god. Gods are not for sale.

Psalm 16v4

We have so many gods. We call them experts, leaders, technology, … We even become our own gods with our thinking and skills. We need saving from ourselves!

With internet searchable answers, how do I protect my heart? Am I willing to go to Jesus first? Am I willing for him to be my salvation?

My choice is you, God, first and only. And now I find I’m your choice!

Psalm 16v5

When I choose the Lord’s salvation, he chooses me! Now, that’s the place to be!
