There are so many voices out there. I am overwhelmed by choice. So, who do I listen to? Or do I listen at all?
GOD’s Message, the God who created the cosmos, stretched out the skies, laid out the earth and all that grows from it, Who breathes life into earth’s people, makes them alive with his own life
Isaiah 42v5-9
When I make the choice of whom I listen to, then I make myself the king. I forget that God most high who created the cosmos is the one whose word is life giving.
I have taken responsibility for you, kept you safe.
Isaiah 42v5-9
The Lord does not give us his message as yet another voice to be considered. He intends to take responsibility and keep us safe. That purpose inevitably addresses lifestyle and choice.
I have grown up thinking that I am the best judge of these and resenting other authorities. The unexpected traps of life show me the error of my view.
But I’ll take the hand of those who don’t know the way, who can’t see where they’re going. I’ll be a personal guide to them, directing them through unknown country.
Isaiah 42v10-17
In my conceit, I think I know the way and I forget Jesus my guide. It is challenging to wait for God when I am sure I know the answer, a challenge to take the stance of a blind man awaiting a leading hand. He who knows the end from the beginning quietly waits for me to stop and listen.
How are you at waiting for God’s direction?
