The cost of confidence

We can be confident in the face of anything!

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God.

Romans 5v1

When I review past failures, I can feal overwhelming remorse. Yet, Jesus already dealt with it. Through forgiveness I am restored to peace.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.

Romans 5v3-4

We can be confident in present trials. Though overwhelming, God has a purpose to develop faith which is demonstrated through endurance as we confidently await His intervention.

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Romans 5v5

People predict future of troubles. Yet, God holds our future so we face it with confidence. His love will fill us and overflow to others through whatever trials come our way.

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

Romans 5v6

In mercy Jesus confronts me with failure! He exposes my conceit and shows me that any success has been through his grace and love. This love, the foundation of our confidence is not just words. It cost Jesus his life.
