Walking with the God who knows us

Speaking into division

How do I follow Jesus in a divided Christian world.

Jesus also went, though secretly.

John 7v10

Jesus wanted to hear each sides thoughts and heart.

Some argued, “He’s a good man,” but others said, “He’s nothing but a fraud who deceives the people.” … they were afraid of getting in trouble with the Jewish leaders.

John 7v12-13

He compassionately listened to division and fear.

Jesus went up to the Temple and began to teach.

John 7v14

Jesus had said he would not go. Then he went. He seemed intent on a low profile. Then he speaks in the most public place.

When the Spirit leads I become unpredictable.

“My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.

John 7v16

Am I able to listen to God mid debate and restrain myself to what he gives?

Anyone who wants to do the will of God will know whether my teaching is from God or is merely my own.

John 7v17

When real life meets Jesus’ truth my certainties and my perspective of God’s love are challenged.

“Moses gave you the law, but none of you obeys it! In fact, you are trying to kill me.”

John 7v19

The leaders attempts to protect the law set “Sabbath” against “Don’t kill”. Where do my certainties become contradictory? I have to grapple with God to find his way. Jesus said,

“I AM the way and the truth and the life.” John 14v6

I am not following an ideal but a person.

Letting go is scary. Do I trust him?
