Walking with the God who knows us

The Surprising cost of leadership

There can be a spiritual challenge before the Lord’s new venture …

Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who was sitting on the throne. Revelation 5v1

The Lord has a new purpose.

But no one … was able to open the scroll and read it. … Then I began to weep bitterly V3-4

God’s purpose is stuck. It cannot proceed without someone to entrust it to.

“Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll. V5

Jesus won the victory! In the first place he is worthy because of his position, the lion of Judah, the heir of David’s throne. Being found worthy to lead is what we all want.

Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered, but it was now standing between the throne and the four living beings and among the twenty-four elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit of God that is sent out into every part of the earth. V6

It needed more of Jesus. It was through humility and death that he stands before the Father, filled with the Spirit and among the holy ones.

When the Lord calls a person to take a new initiative, Jesus the author and perfecter of the faith has gone before. Sometimes the chosen person follows with an inexplicable humbling and a death to open the way for God’s new purpose.

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!
